Pat Flynn
Juice

Juice is a lineup of selected works by Pat Flynn, linking the influential nature of faith, power, and pseudo- sciences into our human relationships; through the use of familiar objects.

Whilst referencing urban legends, critical artworks and pop culture, these works sit alongside deeply personal family fables. Flynn creates scenes that could be inhabited by false healer Peter Popoff; the man unveiled as the Wizard of Oz in it’s closing scenes; one of Hogarth’s subjects or indeed his mother, daughter and the artist himself.

These scenes and stories act as modern folklore; metaphors for illusion, loss, convenient truths, false prophets and disconnection. While the works in ‘Juice’ sometimes appear sceptical, they also leave space for contemplation on the spiritual, societal, or personal connections we share and the things we choose to believe in to stay ‘Juiced.’
